Method 2: How to Reset/Forgot UPI PIN in BHIM
If you have forgotten your PIN, you don't need to visit the bank. You can reset it by using your Debit Card details or Aadhaar-based OTP (if supported by your bank).
Using Debit/ATM Card Details:
- Open the BHIM App and go to Profile > Bank Accounts.
- Select the bank account linked to your UPI.
- Tap on "Forgot UPI PIN".
- Enter the last 6 digits of your Debit/ATM card number and the Expiry Date (MM/YY).
- You will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number. Enter the OTP to verify.
- Now, set your New UPI PIN and confirm it. Your PIN is now reset!
Important Things to Remember
- Security First: Never share your UPI PIN with anyone, even if they claim to be from customer support. Legitimate officials will never ask for it.
- Registered Mobile Number: Ensure your mobile number is active and linked to your bank account, as OTPs are required for resetting the PIN.
- Debit Card Validity: To reset the PIN via the ATM card method, your card must be active and not expired.
- Aadhaar Option: Some banks allow resetting UPI PIN using Aadhaar-linked OTP. Look for the "Aadhaar" option if you don't have your physical debit card handy.
